The Philadelphia Stars downed the New York Gothams, 12-5. The hitting star was third baseman Scott Rolen. Rolen belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Stars. The triumph puts Philadelphia at 61-61 for the season.

Charles Rogan had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for Philadelphia. With the bases loaded and the Stars leading 6-5, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Rolen told the Philadelphia Today.
