Griffey Jr Rips 2 Home Runs in 13-6 Sea Dogs Triumph
The Portland Sea Dogs downed the Miami Cuban Giants, 13-6, at Baker Bowl. Ken Griffey Jr led the way, going 4-for-5 for Portland. The winning pitcher was Walter Johnson. He's now 12-11. He went 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits for the Sea Dogs. The Sea Dogs saw their record improve to 64-79.

With Portland leading 10-5 in the top of the eighth, Griffey Jr came up to bat against Miami pitcher Lefty George. Griffey Jr hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 33rd home run of the season put the Sea Dogs on top, 13-5.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Portland skipper Daniel Makonnen.
