Birmingham right-hander Alejandro Peña pitched his team to victory over the Indianapolis ABCs at Rickwood Field. The final score was 9-3. Birmingham is last in the National League Marvin Miller Division with a record of 67-75.

Early in the game, catcher Jim Pagliaroni had a 2-run home run for Birmingham. It was his 39th home run of the season and put the Black Barons on top, 2-0.

"Alejandro was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Birmingham manager Daniel Makonnen.
