Indianapolis turned a good performance from starting pitcher Joe Lake into a 4-2 triumph over the Philadelphia Stars at Crosley Field. Indianapolis has now won 3 straight, while the Stars have lost 3 in a row.

The ABCs got a big at-bat from first baseman Joey Votto. For the game, Votto went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 35th home run of the season gave Indianapolis a 2-0 lead.
