Pascual Pérez got the win, improving to 3-3. He held the Red Sox to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. New York raised its record to 84-66 with the win.

With two out in the top of the second, Rogers Hornsby put New York in front, 4-0, with a 2-run single. The Black Yankees went on to win the ballgame.

Hornsby told a New York Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
