ABCs Win Squeaker, 5-4, Over Colt 45s
|
The Indianapolis ABCs faced a tough opponent in Houston pitcher Roy Oswalt, but found a way to pull out the victory at Crosley Field by a final score of 5-4 in 10 innings. Oswalt went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Indianapolis reliever Rob Dibble picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Tug McGraw absorbed the loss. At 76-77, the ABCs find themselves in second place in the National League Marvin Miller Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Indianapolis shortstop Barry Larkin, facing Brad Lidge, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the ABCs the 5-4 win.
"Feels good to get the job done," Larkin said after the game.
