Spiders Beaten By Sea Lions, 4-1
|
Bill Steen pitched well, but his team, the Cleveland Spiders, still dropped a 4-1 decision to the San Francisco Sea Lions at Oracle Park. The Sea Lions, now 5-2, have hit the ground running this season.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Turkey Stearnes, who is rated as the 8th best prospect by BNN, hit a triple. The Sea Lions went on to win.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said San Francisco skipper Daniel Makonnen. "I can't complain."
