New York Rallies to 4-2 Win
|
The New York Gothams picked up a win at Polo Grounds, knocking off the Brooklyn Royal Giants, 4-2. Starting pitcher Carl Hubbell was a big reason why. The winner was New York reliever Troy Percival, now 1-1. The loser was Dutch Leonard. Robb Nen locked down his 9th save.
New York took the lead, 3-2, on Larry Doyle's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Brooklyn pitcher Dutch Leonard in the bottom of the eighth.
"I thought Carl threw the ball well across the board," said New York manager Daniel Makonnen.
The win gives New York a season record of 29-28.
