Colt 45s Nip Gothams, 3-2
|
The Houston Colt 45s earned a close win over the New York Gothams, thanks in part to Stephen Strasburg. The Houston right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the NL in strikeouts with 68, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Tug McGraw finished to wrap up his 2nd save. Houston has now won 3 in a row.
Houston took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Grant Johnson hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Colt 45s.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Johnson.
