Colt 45s Suffer 6-4 Home Defeat
The performance of Pete Runnels proved critical in helping New York beat Houston, 6-4. The Gothams second baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Brian Wilson got the save, the 7th for him this season. With the win, New York pushed its record to 30-29.

With New York leading 4-1 in the top of the sixth, Runnels hit a fastball from Fred Ely for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Gothams ahead, 6-1.

Runnels told a New York Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
