Memphis Wins, 5-4, Over Black Sox
|
The Memphis Red Sox picked up a win at Camden Yards, taking down the Baltimore Black Sox, 5-4. Starting pitcher Jon Lester was a big reason why. Memphis has won 3 straight, while Baltimore has lost 4 in a row.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Wade Boggs? The 26-year old third baseman Boggs stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Memphis up, 5-4. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Boggs told the Memphis Bulletin.
