Royal Giants Suffer 3-2 Road Loss
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Indianapolis ABCs eventually prevailed.
Indianapolis first baseman Oscar Charleston was instrumental in helping the ABCs triumph, 3-2, over the Brooklyn Royal Giants. Charleston was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Indianapolis raised its record to 40-31 with the win.
Indianapolis took a 3-2 lead on George Foster's 12th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Foster hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Brooklyn pitcher Terry Forster visibly frustrated.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Charleston told the Indianapolis Observer.
