Gothams Lose to ABCs, 6-5
|
The Indianapolis ABCs defeated the New York Gothams, 6-5, in part because of left fielder Adam Dunn. Dunn went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the ABCs. Dick Tidrow was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities. Indianapolis raised its record to 41-33 with the win.
The ABCs got a big at-bat from second baseman Joe Morgan. For the game, Morgan went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Indianapolis a 4-2 lead.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Morgan told the Indianapolis Observer. "Whatever it takes."
