Longoria, Spiders March to 4-1 Victory
|
The Cleveland Spiders topped the Memphis Red Sox by a score of 4-1. Leading the way was third baseman Evan Longoria. Longoria hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Spiders. The win lifted the Cleveland record to 41-33.
With Cleveland leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Longoria hit a curveball from Jameson Taillon for a 2-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Spiders ahead, 3-0.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Longoria told the Cleveland Daily News.
