Gothams Lose Again, 4-2, to Royal Giants
The Brooklyn Royal Giants called upon starter Don Drysdale, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the New York Gothams, 4-2. The Gothams, at 44-48, have lost 6 straight games.

Mike Piazza, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in home runs with 35, took New York hurler Juan Marichal deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Royal Giants on top, 3-1. In all, Piazza had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

After the game, Brooklyn manager Daniel Makonnen applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
