New York Shuts Out Baltimore, 4-0 Sunday, April 28th , 2002 In a remarkable performance, New York Black Yankees starter Whitey Ford beat the Baltimore Black Sox, 4-0, in an impressive 1-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Black Yankees hurler finished with 5 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Baltimore manager Daniel Makonnen said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
