Finley Mows Down 15 Black Wolf Monday, May 28th , 2001 San Diego Padres starter Chuck Finley brought his best stuff to Comiskey Park against the Madison Black Wolf, striking out 15 batters in his club's 7-1 victory. In a strong performance, the 27-year-old Finley gave up 3 hits in his 8.1 innings of work and issued 6 walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my fastball was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." To this point in the season, Finley shows a 3-1 record, 6 starts, 45 innings, 41 strikeouts and a 3.80 ERA. |
