Madison Southpaw Tosses 7-0 Shutout Wednesday, August 1st , 2001 Danny Jackson of the Madison Black Wolf spun his magic on the San Diego Padres. He blanked them, 7-0, on 6 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and no walks. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Jackson said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Madison skipper Oscar Morales said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Danny pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said. For the season, Jackson has compiled a 5-4 record with a 4.06 ERA. |
