Thursday, September 14th , 2000
He may have less experience than most of his WBL AA peers, but that didn't slow Billy Nash down at all in 2000.

At the age of 20, the Fort Wayne third baseman has been named the winner of the WBL AA Most Valuable Player Award.

He had a .315 batting average and a .383 on-base percentage this year. In 89 games he piled up 109 hits, 28 doubles, 3 triples, 21 home runs, 75 RBIs and 60 runs scored.

"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."

He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 20. John Briggs of the Jersey City Skeeters finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Willie Crawford of the Tulsa Drillers finished third with 3 first place votes.
